In 2013, this popular select craft brewery took top awards in the Canadian Brewing Awards competition, including: King Heffy Imperial Hefeweizen (Gold Medal), Diamond Head Oatmeal Stout (Gold), Devil’s Elbow IPA (Silver) and Howe Sound Lager (Bronze). “Brew The Beer You Wish To See In The World” is the motto they operate by and their unique beers will surely leave you wanting more.
Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Parallel 49 Brewing Company has established itself as one of the fastest growing crafter brewers in Canada. Parallel 49 craft beers won four Canadian Craft Beer Awards in 2013, including a gold medal for its Belgian Style Abbey Ale, and silver medals for American Style India Pale Ale, Brown Ale and Wood and Barrel Aged Strong Beer. Their beer is as unique as the labels they put on their bottles and easily stand out in a crowd.
In 1995, when the owner of Steamworks first took hold of their historic Gas Town brewpub location, they discovered that the building had a rare steam heat system. A remnant from forward thinkers of a century past. Their brew master had only read of steam brewing, but had never seen a functional steam brewery. These are very rare indeed. They ventured forth, experimented, and created a one-of-a-kind steam generated brewery. The only one in Canada. To our pleasure, we found their brews to be distinctively fresh and flavorful.
For nearly 20 years, beer aficionados have been migrating to the Steamworks brewpub for a taste of these unconventional beers. Now, with the advent of their bottled & canned beers, you can take the brewpub experience home with you, South of the Border!
